TermWorks for students
Get paid while you do your homework.
TermWorks is a free terminal plugin that shows you occasional opportunities — jobs, tools, startups — between commands. You earn real money for every one you see. No extra work. No side hustle. Just code like normal.
Mac / Linux / WSL
curl -fsSL https://term.works/install.sh | bash
Windows (PowerShell)
irm https://term.works/install.ps1 | iex
One command each. Works on Mac, Linux, WSL, and Windows. Takes 30 seconds.
How it works
- Install TermWorks with the command above — Mac, Linux, WSL, or Windows
- Code normally — assignments, projects, anything in the terminal
- Every few commands, a short opportunity appears between your output
- Earn a small amount for each one shown. Cash out via Stripe whenever you want.
What you'll see
Short, relevant, never blocking. You can skip any one with termworks skip.
What you earn
| Light use (a few hours/week) | ~$2–5/month |
| Moderate use (daily coursework) | ~$5–15/month |
| Heavy use (CS major, side projects) | ~$15–30/month |
Not life-changing money — but it's completely passive. Most users think of it as covering a Spotify subscription, a few coffees, or their ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot subscriptions every month.
Your privacy
| What gets sent | Command category (e.g. “python”), exit code, session timing |
| What stays on your machine | Your actual commands, file paths, code, environment variables |
Classification happens locally. Your assignment code and file names never leave your computer. Read the full privacy policy.
